Hi everyone!
Dad and I have been at Jana and Rich's home with their family this past week, and we have enjoyed every minute here! We arrived on Friday, and spent the first few days visiting Marcia at her new home and playing games with the kids and shopping, etc. On Monday Jana and Mom went shopping together to look for something special for her to wear for Women's Conference when she speaks April 29th. Amy arrived with her kids in the afternoon so we got to play with them--we've enjoyed going to the Dinosaur exhibit at Thanksgiving Point with them, shopping the dollar store, and seeing a movie because it was too cold to play outside (snow even!). The main focus until Friday was helping Jana prepare for her Brain Awareness Fair. She did a great job. She created a beautiful presentation about Garren's life with Lissencephaly. She says she may put it on YouTube so you can see it. We hope she will.
Last Friday, March 5th, James took his last test before he could obtain his license as a chiropractor, and Tuesday we celebrated when he called to let us know that he passed the test and could obtain his license on Friday, March 12th. We're so grateful that he can move forward as he desires to get started with his profession and be able to help people.
Yesterday evening we went to the church down the street from Jana and Rich's home where the Mason family and some close friends came to visit with us. It was such a great time to see so many relatives. I hesitate to mention names of everyone who came, but we all had a wonderful time together. We're planning ahead to have a full-fledged family reunion the last weekend of July 2012. Please keep that date in mind and reserve it if possible so that we can all be committed to get together again!
Today Amy and I attended Jana's primary class after church while Dad went with Tyler and Rich to Sunday School. Marcia came over for dinner, and we really enjoyed having time with her. After dinner Jana and Rich and Dad and I went with Jacob to get his Patriarchal Blessing. It was a deeply sacred experience, and Jacob was so kind to have invited us to be there with him.
Tomorrow (March 15th) is the day! We will enter the MTC at 10:00 a.m., and yes, we're excited about this new opportunity and promise to do all we can to accomplish our mission to Mexico for the next 18 months. Thanks for all your support!!! We love each one of you, and pray that you will be blessed and protected while we are striving to invite people to hear about the Church. We are grateful for this opportunity to help bring the gospel to those who are waiting to receive it's beautiful message of peace.
Dad will write next week. He is already having fun with this blog. I'll have fun too (and many sacred experiences) with him now. What a great mission we have been called to accomplish. Lo hare'!!
Please remember us and write to us whenever you can. We are grateful for you all, and we'll keep you informed all along the way throughout our mission.
With much happiness and love,
Dad and Mom
